Yeoncheon by train: no car needed

Yeoncheon is directly connected to Seoul by Metro Line 1, making it one of the few border areas you can visit without a car. As long as you sort out the station-to-sight legs, a day trip works well.

Line
Seoul Metro Line 1
Travel time
About 1.5–2 hours from Seoul
Tip
Bring cash for buses and taxis

The train line

Line 1 (toward Yeoncheon) runs to Jeongok and Yeoncheon stations — about 1.5 to 2 hours from central Seoul.

Around Jeongok Station, the Prehistory Museum and Hantangang park are close by; Jaein Falls is reached from the station by bus or taxi.

From station to sights

Jaein Falls: take a bus (No. 56, 101, 34) from Jeongok Station plus a short walk, or a taxi.

Carry some cash, and since buses are infrequent, check return times in advance.
